Traveling with Rovos Rail
Rovos Rail operates what are probably the most luxurious trains in the world. When you step onboard any of the Rovos Rail trains it is like traveling back in time to sometime in the early 20th century. The trains and carriages have been renovated in an elegant colonial design with out loosing any of the modern comforts we expect in a luxury establishment.
Rovos Rail operates regular trips between a number of destinations in Southern Africa as well as a few special annual trips.
The regular Rovos Rail departures include trips between:
Pretoria - Cape Town or Cape Town - Pretoria
Pretoria - Victoria Falls or Victoria Falls – Pretoria
Cape Town – George or George – Cape Town
Pretoria – Durban or Durban to Pretoria
In addition to the regular departures Rovos Rail also operates the following annual trips:
Pretoria – Swakopmund (Namibia) or Swakopmund (Namibia) – Pretoria
Cape Town – Dar es Salaam (Tanzania) or Dar es Salaam (Tanzania) – Cape Town
Golf Safari – Pretoria – Sun City
“In April we traveled with Rovos Rail from Cape Town to Pretoria. It was a fantastic trip, the two days we spent on the train where amazing. The food and drink, the company and the beautiful carriages made the trip a truly memorable experience. The visits in Matjiesfontein and Kimberley also added greatly to the trip. I thoroughly recommend a trip with Rovos Rail to anyone wanting to experience a truly unique trip through Southern Africa.” – Adam
The train

The Royal Suite is approximately 16m2 and it has an en-suite bathroom with both a shower and a free standing Victorian bath.
