Kambaku is a genuine South African family run safari lodge with warm and friendly service and all the comforts for a perfect stay. See our Rates section for specials!
Kambaku is a wonderful safari lodge that welcomes its guests as friends and you leave as part of the family. Ideal for families and small groups, Kambaku is small and very intimate. The rooms are close together and close to the main house and pool. There is a lovely garden and beautiful views of the waterhole and plains. Often animals will visit the waterhole for a drink and where it not for the electric fence you might have an unexpected visitor at your table.
The main lounge has a bar and small dining room that opens onto the veranda, from here you can see right down to the waterhole at the end of the garden. Upstairs there is a second smaller lounge and wooden deck, a wonderful spot to have an evening drink whilst taking in the beautiful surroundings. As the lodge is run on a generator there is limited electricity and at night Kambaku is lit up with paraffin lamps creating a magical and romantic setting.
Kambaku is about family and friendly service so the atmosphere is laid back and relaxed, guests are also welcome to visit the eco-friendly staff village adjacent to the lodge. Robyn and Ken who manage the lodge are wonderful and the rangers and trackers take every care to make sure that guests get a fantastic game drive.
“We loved the authenticity of the rondavels, the family rooms brought alive the child in me and adventures of safari in my one-man-tent (actually a single bed with mosquito net).” - Alexandra

We were very pleased with the Safari. It was FANTASTIC and the lodge was great and the food was good and the guides and trackers were amazing. All in all it exceeded our expectations by a LOT! We saw Lions, Leopards, Elephants, Rhino, Hippo out of the water! too many Buffalo to count and Giraffes everywhere.
