Location: Sabi Sands Game Reserve

Selati Camp is one of four Sabi Sabi lodges in the Sabi Sands Game Reserve and represents yesterday’s safari charms. A lot of history is part of the wonderful genuine character at Selati Camp.

The name Selati derives from the old railway line east of the camp. The colonial style and ambience is felt throughout the camp

The lodge is very small with only eight rooms and until 1994 it was still a privately owned farm house. The entire lodge has an old fashioned enchantment from the bar with railway memorabilia from the late 1800s hanging on the walls to the authentic farm house kitchen for indoor dinners. At night the lodge is lit up with lanterns on the pathways and trees which create a lovely romantic feel and very magical setting, very much like an enchanted forest.

There is a lovely deck looking out to the plains and waterhole, a nice pool and open lounge, bar and dining area under a thatch roof where guests can relax and enjoy the African safari lifestyle. Selati Camp offers a very intimate and personal experience, where the rangers are also your hosts and will normally have breakfast and dinner with their guests.

Suites at Sabi Sabi Selati Camp
The lodge consists of six standard rooms, one honeymoon suite and the presidential suite all named after stops along the Selati railway line. The rooms are free standing thatch roofed rondavels with high ceilings, lovely colonial style décor and lots of space. The standard rooms have separate dressing area, lovely spacious bathrooms with outdoor shower and private courtyard. The Honeymoon suite is bigger and has a lounge area, gorgeous views from the deck, outdoor shower and the glass windows around the bathtub slide open completely for a romantic outdoor bath experience. The presidential suite is even larger with a dresser room, enclosed veranda and private plunge pool.

General Information:
The lodge is not fenced in so wild animals can wonder into the lodge.
Selati Camp does not take children under 12 years unless the whole lodge is rented to one group.
A maximum of six guests are allowed per vehicle.
