Thakadu safari lodge is fairly unique in that the local Molatedi community own the camp and as a result substantial benefits filters back to the local community, both in terms of job creation as well as direct profits which are used to uplift the local community.
The safari lodge consists of 12 beautiful tented suites as well as a large main building. In the main building guests will find the bar, dinning room, lounge as well as a large veranda and pool.
Thakadu Lodge is a great choice for families traveling with small children as it is in the malaria free are of Madikwe.

Suites at Thakadu
The suites at Thakadu are beautiful. All in all there are 12 tented suites, each with its own viewing deck overlooking the Marico River. The suites at Thakadu are spacious and wonderfully decorated in an African explorer style with a modern touch. All the suites have a full bathroom with shower and separate bath.
Game drives at Thakadu
Game drives at Thakadu take place in an open vehicle with a knowledgeable game ranger from the local Molatedi community. Morning game drives take place at dawn until about 0900 when it is time for breakfast. The afternoon game drives start after high tea, normally around 1600 and last until after sunset giving guests a chance to look for the night time predators.

Thakadu caters for children however children under 6 are not allowed on game drives. Babysitting is available at Thakadu.
Thakadu safari lodge does not have a spa but a limited selection of beauty treatments are available at the lodge.
