Makanyane Safari Lodge

Makanyane is located in the Madikwe Game Reserve next to the Marico River. The lodge consists of eight very luxurious suites as well as a main lodge building where guests will find the dining room, curio shop, bar, large veranda and pool as well as a study and TV room.

At Makanyane there is also a small gym for those guests wanting to exercise off some of the great food served at the lodge. Next to the gym there is also a small treatment room and Makanyane has an onsite therapist for guests wanting some pampering.

Makanyane safari lodge has been designed in a modern African design with emphasis on the amazing nature surrounding the safari lodge.

Suites at Makanyane
The suites at Makanyane safari lodge are fantastic with a spacious bedroom with fireplace and huge panoramic windows facing the Marico River. Both the large open plan bathroom and the bedroom lead onto a veranda and wonderful big outdoor shower. All the rooms have been designed in a way to maximize the amazing setting, all the focus is on the surrounding nature and when you are in the very spacious and luxurious suites your focus is on the nature around you and not on the room itself as most of the walls are glass windows. The suites all have the modern luxuries you would expect in a safari lodge, however there is no TV or Internet in the suites.

Game drives at Makanyane
The game drives at Makanyane are done in an open Toyota Land Cruiser with a very knowledgeable game ranger. There are two daily game drives, at the crack of dawn until breakfast (0900) and an afternoon game drive after high tea at around 16.00 which lasts for about 3 hours. The last part of this game drive takes place in the dark and this is the best chance of spotting some of the more elusive nocturnal predators such as leopard and hyena.

Makanyane has Internet access in the main building, there is a computer for guests as well as wi-fi.
Makanyane does not accept children under the age of 12.
Makanyane Lodge is not fenced in.
