Sanbona Wildlife Reserve is one of South Africa’s largest privately owned game reserves and it is a perfect place for a malaria free safari not far from Cape Town. Sanbona is located about 3 hours from Cape Town in the heart of the arid Klein Karoo. Sanbona is situated at the foot of the Warmwaterberg Mountains and the reserve consists of 54 000 hectares of land with stunning mountains, plains and rock formations and rare San rock art. 

Sanbona is a big five reserve (lion, leopard, buffalo, rhino and elephant) and also home to many other species of mammals, birds and reptiles as well as over 650 different plant species. Sanbona is the only game reserve in the Western Cape that has free roaming white lions.
