Whales in Hermanus
The whale season in Hermanus is from June to November, and during this time you can see the Southern Right Whales close to the shore in Hermanus. Several companies organise whale-watching boat trips, which allow you to get up close and personal with the whales. Even kayaking with the whales is possible!

Hermanus is a lovely holiday town and in December it gets very busy with local holidaymakers. From Cape Town it takes about an hour and half to reach Hermanus, and there are also some nice wine farms along the way.

Southern Right Whales are also sometimes spotted in Gordons Bay, Noordhoek and False Bay.
