Prince Albert is a charming historic village about a 4 hours’ drive from Cape Town. The town is located at the foot of the Swartberg Mountains in the semi desert known as the Karoo. Prince Albert is one of the best preserved villages in South Africa and the town has many beautifully preserved Cape Dutch, Victorian and Georgian buildings. In recent years Prince Albert has seen something of a revival and there are now many good restaurants, art galleries and small boutiques in the town.
