As you enter Arabella Western Cape Hotel & Spa you marvel at the high open ceilings built in wood to resemble the structure of a boat. There is a lovely open feel and peaceful setting created by the large glass windows on either side of the lounges and bars that lead to large balconies and gorgeous panoramic views of the golf course and lagoon on the one side and the huge pool and gardens on the other.

The Arabella Western Cape is on a Nature Reserve and overlooks South Africa’s largest natural lagoon. It is also home to South Africa’s second best golf course and top course in the Western Cape, the views from the course are spectacular. Ideally located 10 minutes drive from Hermanus, 1 hour from Cape Town and 45 minutes from the Cape Winelands.

The hotel has 5 floors that are all connected by semi-open ceilings so there is a lovely open feel and an abundance of natural light flowing through out the hotel. The décor is a combination of nautical elegance and African chic with earthy tones on the walls and carpets and lots of wood furniture which blend perfectly with the gorgeous setting.

Each of the five floors have rooms along the wings of the hotel and in the centre are the large open public areas spread between each floor there are, 2 big lounges with bar, a cigar bar, 2 restaurants, the lovely spa and gym that has direct access to the outside pools, one of which is heated, and on the ground floor is the Club House, pro-shop, changing rooms and half-way house.

The pool area and outside bar is unbelievable, there are 2 big pools, a waterfall and beautiful manicured lawns with lots of sun lounges.

Behind the pool area is the fantastic Balous adventure centre for children which is open during the day and offers lots of activities and childminding.

Although Arabella Western Cape is a big hotel with 145 rooms, it feels intimate and offers a personal and very professional service. The friendliness adds to the luxury and comfort that can be expected.

Rooms at Arabella Western Cape
There are 145 rooms at Arabella Western Cape and three room categories, Deluxe room, Deluxe Suite and the two Presidential Suites. All the rooms are spacious and have an African chic décor but subtle and uncluttered, with wood furniture and earthy tones on the walls. The Deluxe rooms have an open-plan layout and the sliding doors from the bathroom allow guests to lie in the bath whilst taking in the beautiful views. The Deluxe suites are bigger and have a separate lounge area where as the two Presidential Suites have a larger lounge and dining area and big balconies. Some rooms are also inter-leading which is ideal for families.
All the rooms have the general amenities, coffee and tea, mini-bar, safe, hairdryers and some of the rooms also have balconies and fireplaces. All the rooms have complimentary wireless.

General Information
Arabella Western Cape offers five star service – there is a Travel Desk, Activities and Adventures desk, ATM in the foyer, a lovely shop, hair salon.
There are two restaurants that offer fine dining in the Premier, and more relaxed a la carte menu at Jamani. On weekends there is also a braai served at Jamani. Light meals at the lounge and room service are also available.
The hotel has a conference room that sits 270 people in one big room which can also be subdivided into 4 smaller rooms. The facilities are lovely with high ceilings and large glass windows with fantastic views of the golf course.
The Arabella is ideal for families, the Balous adventure centre is open during the day and babysitting facilities are offered in the evenings.
