Phantom Forest is a wonderful place to visit if you want to relax and unwind in nature with absolute luxury. The warm welcome and attention to detail enables guests to absorb the wonderful surroundings and forget the hectic lifestyle outside.
Phantom Forest has been growing for the past 12 years, expanding as the trees grow around it. The lodge is set deep within the forest and resembles something from Enid Blyton’s book “Enchanted Forest”, the lodge is secluded both in location and in relation to each building. There are 2 restaurants, Chutzpah - a Moroccan Restaurant (open from October to end of March) at the top of the forest with spectacular views, a lovely pool and lots of mosaics resembling Aladdin’s fantasy land – and the Boma Restaurant set in the middle of the trees, serving more traditional African cuisine. Open all year round it is very cosy and on dry evenings a fire is lit outside for guests to have coffees and digestives sitting by the fire after dinner. There is also Eyre the bar where the main pool is and also the wireless connectivity. A lovely chilled bar and lounge area perfect for pre-dinner drinks. The décor throughout the lodge is Balinese mixed with subtle African artefacts.
Walkways and plenty of stairs connect the main buildings to all the rooms and guests can enjoy forest walks around the property. Besides the 2 restaurants and 14 suites there is also the Spa with 4 different treatment rooms, a gym room with 1 bicycle and a mattress and some weights as well as the Bubble Barrel and tiny sauna for 2 which is the icing on the cake for any honeymoon couple.
“We spent a night at the end of April 2010 in this wonderful quaint and romantic eco-lodge. It is perfect during winter or summer, we loved our stay in such beautiful surroundings and the dinner was lovely after which we sat outside by the fire chatting to the other guests.” - Alexandra
