Garden Route Game Lodge

R1501 - R2000
Price per person sharing during high season
Location: Albertinia Accommodation

The Garden Route Game Lodge is located in a valley of indigenous vegetation. The lodge offers a great “safari light” experience.

There is a great feel as you arrive at the lodge and the warm and friendly welcome just adds to the peaceful setting. The lodge is right off the N2 yet when you walk through to the lounge and bar area the views are lovely of rolling hills and lush vegetation.

The Garden Route Game Lodge has a genuine safari décor and feel with views looking out to the plains and rolling hills. There is a lovely long pool secluded by palm trees and a big garden for guests to relax in sun-loungers and enjoy the summer weather. The lodge is also ideal for families with small children and every effort is made to help parents to enjoy a relaxed holiday. The family rooms have a microwave and fridge, special meal times and menus are also offered for children. There are two jungle-gyms and a lovely lawn for children to run around.

Game drives last approximately two hours and are done by experienced and very friendly rangers in covered jeeps. The safari experience at Garden Route Game Lodge is more of a “safari light experience” when compared to the Lowveld. At the Garden Route Game Lodge guests not only get to see the wildlife but also learn a great deal about the variety of indigenous flora and beautiful birds in the 1500 hectares of land. The landscape is quite arid with beautiful rolling hills and mountain ranges.

Rooms at Garden Route Game Lodge
There are 36 rooms in total but the lodge does not feel that big. There are two types of accommodation, the Lodge and the Cabins. Lodge rooms are at the main lodge where there are eight standard twin bedded rooms next to each other that face the garden and pool. On the other side of the main lounge are eight family rooms very similar to the standard rooms but these have a sleeper couch or extra bed as well as micro and a small fridge to cater for families with small children. The lodge rooms are spacious and have a modern African safari décor with light tones. The bathrooms are quite spacious and have a shower in the bath. Being next to each other these rooms are not private.

The Cabins are timber structures built on stilts with thatch roofs and are much smaller in size and the bathrooms only have a small shower. The décor is lovely and cosy with lots of wood furniture and a gorgeous deck overlooking the lush valley and waterhole. All rooms have ceiling fans, TV, tea and coffee facility and hairdryer.

10 to 30 minutes drive:
Pinnacle Point.
