Cascade Manor is run by the lovely owners Maika and Volker who have changed this beautiful stately home into a nine bedroom guest house. Guests will quickly find themselves befriending the lovely owners over breakfast and enjoying many conversations while tasting the home made olive oil.
The décor is that of a modern home - less is more - spacious living rooms with high ceilings and big French windows opening onto a lovely veranda much in style of a plantation house. Guests have numerous choices for relaxing both indoors and outdoors. Quite unique to what you normally find in the Cape Winelands, the manor house was built in the 1800s as a farm house and then in the 1940s then owner, the Duke of Bedford, changed it to a statelier look.
Cascade Manor has a huge well manicured garden with a large pool, in the garden there is also a jungle gym and trampoline for the children.
Although secluded and private, Cascade Manor is not far from the N1 and it is very easy to get into Paarl where there are many restaurants to choose from and several wine farms. There is no other house nearby so guests will have a very peaceful stay and for those looking for a romantic holiday, there is a lovely waterfall in the forest with a nice walk down an alley of olive trees.
“The night we spent at Cascade Manor it was a rainy and cold evening. After relaxing in our room we drove into Paarl for dinner and we were able to find the way back in the dark. The next morning we had a delicious breakfast and took a stroll to the lovely waterfall before heading out for some wine tasting.” Alexandra
