Mont Rochelle is perfectly situated minutes away from Franschhoek main road, with some of the best restaurants in South Africa and the hotel is the ideal base from where to explore neighbouring wine regions like Stellenbosch and Paarl and some of the best golf courses in South Africa.
Beautiful views of the mountains and vineyards can be enjoyed from the gardens and the pool. The hotel itself is a lovely Cape Dutch house with thatch roofs and the rooms are spread out on three wings to give privacy to the guests.
Lovely modern finishes throughout the hotel and in the rooms with all the comforts needed to make your stay as perfect as possible.
To really experience life in the Winelands guests can take walks through the vineyards and have a picnic by the dam as well as renting mountain bikes at reception. For the ultimate experience guests have the chance to go on a three hour wine tasting tour on horse back, but if you feel more like a beginner then choose the hourly rides and then relax by the pool bar with a nice drink. There is also a wellness facility where guests can have treatments, a sauna, and a gym.
“We spent a night at Mont Rochelle in June 2008 celebrating my birthday. The most friendly staff and so attentive. After a relaxed dinner at Country Kitchen we went back for a night cap at the bar and sat by the fire. The following morning at breakfast, I received a delicious chocolate birthday cake and singing from the staff.” – Adam
