Grande Provence

The wine estate Grande Provence has long been known for its outstanding wines and in the past few years the restaurant has also become a very popular choice. Also part of the estate is the very exclusive five-star villa, The Owner's Cottage listed by Condé Nast World Traveler Hot List as one of the best new hotels in the world in 2006.

The New Zealand designer Virginia Fischer has combined a modern and luxurious interior with the otherwise very rural building. The Owner's Cottage is very tastefully decorated with modern and relatively minimalist furniture combined with African objects and paintings to create a very cozy but elegant atmosphere.

There are five beautifully decorated en-suite bedrooms, and a very cozy sitting room with a fireplace. The living room leads out to a covered veranda opening onto the garden and pool. The house is also equipped with a complete and very modern kitchen.
In the garden there is a second veranda, which can be described as an open living room with a fireplace looking onto the pool. The sun beds overlook the Franschhoek Mountains and from the pool stairs lead up to a spacious Jacuzzi from where the views are absolutely magical.

Service at The Owner's Cottage is incredible, a butler will take care of all the guest needs, and a cook will prepare meals according to your tastes and wishes. Of course, there is also daily cleaning and laundry service.

The Owner's Cottage only receives one group at a time, whether the group consists of 1 or 10 people, which means that the guests always get 100 percent attention and privacy.

A stone's throw away from The Owner's Cottage is the vineyard Grande Provence with its beautiful manor house from the 1700s. There is a very modern and popular restaurant as well as the Grande Provence winery and a small gallery that exhibits mainly South African artists.

Bedrooms at The Owner’s Cottage
All five bedrooms are en-suite and decorated with warm colors and equipped with a large double bed, flat screen TV, minibar, air conditioning and heating, and either a balcony or veranda. The bathrooms are spacious and all have separate shower and bathtubs, and guests can enjoy all the products from Molten Brown.
In the main building, there is a bedroom on the bottom floor, and two slightly smaller rooms on the upper floor. In the neighboring house there are two bedrooms, both with open fire.

Food at The Owner's Cottage
The rates at The Owner's Cottage include breakfast and a three course dinner prepared in the villa’s beautiful kitchen. Most meals are prepared by the Executive Chef at Grande Provence Estate. Guests can watch this master chef preparing the meals and perhaps even take home some good ideas and tips.
Wine from Grande Provence, local beer and soft drinks are also included in the rate. Guests at The Owner's Cottage can also choose to have dinner at the restaurant at Grande Provence.
