Isibindi Zulu Lodge is located on a farm in Zululand, the lodge is built high on a cliff overlooking the beautiful surroundings. The rooms at Isibindi Zulu Lodge are designed in a typical Zulu way. The lodge consists of 6 rooms and a main building with a lounge, library and a large veranda and bar. The main building at Isibindi Zulu Lodge is decorated in a real African way, with a lot of inspiration from Zulu culture. Isibindi Zulu Lodge also has a lovely pool area, the pool at the lodge is an infinity pool with amazing views of the nearby valleys.
Rooms at Isibindi Zulu Lodge
The rooms at Isibindi Zulu Lodge are inspired from Zulu architecture and design, they consist of a large beehive rondavel with a thatched roof. All rooms have an en-suite bathroom with a separate shower and bath. All rooms also have wonderful views of the surrounding nature. The rooms and bathrooms at Isibindi Zulu Lodge are not luxurious but very comfortable.
Activities at Isibindi Zulu Lodge
There is a lot to do at the Isibindi Zulu Lodge apart from just relaxing and enjoying the beautiful environment. At Isibindi Zulu Lodge guest can go on game drives, or game walks, on the farm to view animals such as antelopes, zebras and giraffes. If guest want they can experience a traditional Zulu evening in the nearby Zulu village. This includes Zulu dancing as well as guided tour of the Zulu homestead and also a traditional Zulu dinner.
The highlight for most guests staying at Isibindi Zulu Lodge is the tour of the battlefields at Ishandlawana and Rorkes Drift. A guided tour of these famous battlefields in the Anglo Zulu War is an amazing experience. For those guests not that familiar with the story we recommend that they first watch the film Zulu with Michael Cain to get a basic understanding of what happened at Ishandlawana and Rorkes Drift.
