Arabella Golf Club is a luxury golfing getaway where guests can stay on the golf course at the Western Cape Hotel & Spa. The golf course was designed by renowned architect Peter Matkovich, and Arabella is currently ranked by Golf Digest as the 2nd best golf course in South Africa.
Arabella Golf Club is perched alongside a river that flows into the Indian Ocean. From many holes, the view of the sea is spectacular. Between July and December, it is often possible to spot Southern Right whales in the bay as you enjoy your game.
Arabella golf course is frequented by golfing enthusiasts from around the world. The course is mostly of a parkland character, with holes 9, 17 and 18 located next to the ocean. As a result, the wind can become a significant factor when playing these holes, offering a real challenge to players.
Arabella is suitable for both low and high handicap players. The fairways are relatively wide and the greens are large, undulated and very fast. There are also a lot of bunkers on the fairways and around the green – 71 in total – and thus precision is a necessity, especially when playing onto the green.
