About Travel For Life

Travel For Life is a Cape Town based tour operator founded by Alexandra and Adam Malmnäs in 2007. We help the discerning traveller visiting Southern Africa to make sure that you get the most out of your Southern African adventure.  Travel For Life was born out of our love for traveling and Alexandra’s spirited way of thoroughly researching any holiday destination before departure!

All of the hotels, boutique hotels, guest houses and safari lodges offer luxurious accommodation, great service and are situated in good areas for tourists visiting Southern Africa. They also all offer outstanding value for money in different price categories.

We are proud to say that we have stayed at every guest house, boutique hotel, safari lodge featured on the website and we have eaten at all of the restaurants and played at all of the golf courses. As a result we can give you a first hand account of our experience. We are always searching for fantastic new destinations and places so that we can offer our clients the best.

We have negotiated preferential rates with a selection of guest houses, boutique hotels and safari lodges so that we can offer our customers great value for money. It is never more expensive to book through Travel For Life than to book directly with the hotel.

Travel For Life can organize your entire trip from when you land anywhere in Southern Africa until you go back home. We will happily organize everything from hotels, safari, guest houses, golf, car rental, restaurant bookings and tours. The Travel For Life Team Adam Malmnäs Contact: adam@travelforlife.se Adam was born in Sweden but also lived in South Africa before returning to Sweden to finish school at Sigtuna. He then went to university in Lund in the south of Sweden to study economics and business studies followed by post graduate studies at the Michael Smurfit Business School in Dublin. After working for a few years for an IT company in Stockholm he moved to Cape Town with Alexandra where they started Travel For Life in 2007. Adam has always wanted to build his own company and his passion for traveling and for his home country ultimately brought about the birth of Travel For Life. Special interests: golf, scuba diving and good food & wine. Languages spoken: Swedish and English

Alexandra Malmnäs Contact: alexandra@travelforlife.se Alexandra has a truly international background, she was born in Switzerland, lived in Nicaragua but spent most of her childhood in Portugal. Alexandra also finished her schooling in Sweden at Sigtuna before going to study international relations at the university of St. Andrews in Scotland. After a short stay in Stockholm she moved to South Africa with Adam where they started Travel For Life. Alexandra has traveled all her life and is somewhat of a free spirit always looking for the next destination to explore and so Travel For Life is more than just her job it is her best hobby. Special interests: Outdoor activities, safari, scuba diving, good food and wine. Languages spoken: English, Swedish, Portuguese and French

Juliet Matunga Contact: juliet@travelforlife.se Juliet was born in Chegutu, Zimbabwe. She grew up in Mrehwa- Mukarakate and completed her Cambridge Ordinary Level at Nhowe Mission. She studied Office Practice, Entrepreneurship at the Academy of Learning in Bulawayo. In the year 2000 she joined Amakhosi Arts Theatre in Bulawayo. Soon after, Juliet moved to South Africa where she worked in Johannesburg and the Eastern Cape before coming to Cape Town. She met Adam and Alexandra in 2009 and found her true passion and interest for travel and joined Travel For Life in 2010 where she now works as the reservations manager. Special Interests: Travelling, experiencing and learning new things every day. Languages spoken: English, Shona, Xhosa and Ndebele

Nicole da Silva Contact: nicole@travelforlife.se   Nicole was born in Johannesburg; where she has lived most of her childhood until she moved to Cape Town with her family in 2003. After finishing her schooling, she took a gap year to travel.  She studied Tourism Management and Events in Stellenbosch & completed her 3rd year Diploma in 2008. Her passion for travel led her to work on the cruise ships of Crystal Cruises. Wanting to further her career in travel she has started working for Travel For Life as a tour consultant. Special Interests: Travelling, cooking & enjoying good food & wine and various outdoor activities. Languages spoken: English, Afrikaans and Portuguese.

Amanda Hawker Contact: amanda@travelforlife.se   Amanda was born in Mthatha, in what was then the Transkei homeland. Her family moved to East London in 1993 and she completed her matric at Cambridge High School and was fortunate enough to be awarded a full scholarship by the Damelin School of Travel and Tourism, where she obtained a Diploma in Travel and Tourism. She moved to Johannesburg in 2001 to further her career prospects and spent 6 years there before finally moving to Cape Town at the end of 2007 to be closer to her family.  Amanda has over 10 years’ experience in the travel industry, and has an undying love of travel. She enjoys exploring new places and experiencing new cultures and finds nothing better than just packing her bags and going somewhere, anywhere. Special Interests: Travelling, writing, fashion, music, good food and wine. Languages spoken: English, Afrikaans, Xhosa, Zulu, Sotho/Tswana.
