The Residence Mauritius is a wonderful luxury hotel that offers all its guests the very best service and attentive and friendly staff. As you enter the main reception you are instantly blown away by the high ceilings and open space that allow for views straight through to the Indian Ocean.
Throughout, The Residence Mauritius has a contemporary feel blended with more colonial characteristics - big pillars, high ceilings, natural colours. The hotel blends in beautifully with the stunning surroundings of tropical vegetation in the well-kept gardens and the long beach only a few steps away. There is also a lovely large pool, heated Jacuzzi and separate children’s pool overlooking the ocean. Sun loungers and parasols line all around the pool and 500m stretch of beach so you do not need to worry about lack of space.
Rooms at The Residence Mauritius
The Residence Mauritius has 135 luxury rooms and 28 suites, varying in size from 54 to 164 square meters. The rooms face either the garden or the ocean and are on three levels with every room having either a veranda or balcony. All the rooms have the same décor, contemporary colonial, subtle in tones of cream and beige and minimalistic, with a nice king size bed, and wooden furniture and with the dressing room and cupboards in the bathroom which all have separate bath and shower.

The standard rooms are nice and spacious and fit a sofa and coffee table and a desk and chair; The Junior suites are slightly bigger with an open plan lounge area where there is a second TV; The Ocean Suites are twice as big with separate lounge area that can be closed from the main bedroom and are ideal for couples travelling with 1 child or an infant; The Colonial suites are the largest rooms and have a dining table in the lounge that seats four that can also be closed off from the bedroom. This is the ideal suite for a family with two children or for a group of 3 adults. The usual comforts are provided in every room, TV with international channels, DVD and CD player, minibar and tea and coffee facilities, laundry service, safe, air-conditioning and ceiling fan. Every room also has its own private Butler who is available to assist with any of the guests needs.
Restaurants at The Residence Mauritius
Breakfast is at The Dining Room restaurant by the pool or guests can have breakfast on their own private veranda or balcony. For lunch guests can choose light meals from The Veranda and eat at the pool or on the beach and later in the afternoon The Gourmet Kiosque serves delicious sweet snacks like pancakes, pastries and ice creams and for savoury light meals the bar has a lovely menu.
There are two restaurants for dinner, The Dining Room by the pool and The Plantation a short walk from the hotel on the Beach. Both serve lovely food and a variation of seafood and local influences and every night there is a new set menu for those who want to change from the A La Carte menu.
At night the bar by the pool is the ideal way to end the evening relaxing on one of the sofas in the large open lounge where live music adds to the wonderful setting overlooking the pool and starlit sky.
The spa at The Residence Mauritius
There is a lovely Spa with 9 treatment rooms and a variety of treatments to pamper the body and soul. Next to the Spa is the gym with a few cardio and weight machines. There is also a large conference room adjacent to the gym that seats 50 people but is more often used for group exercise classes. If you prefer the outdoors there are three tennis courts and numerous water sports on offer at the hotel; some included in the rate such as water skiing, snorkelling and glass bottom boat and others at an extra cost like, diving and boat excursions.
Children at the Residence Mauritius
Located on the beach and a short walk from the hotel is The Planters Kids Club for children aged three to twelve years. The house Inspired by a sugar cane plantation house has 400 square meters of space for the children to enjoy. Here they play games, go on treasure hunts and the children are kept entertained and exercised and the parents relaxed

Additional Information
The closest golf courses are between 10 and 20 minutes drive. There are three golf courses close to the Residence Mauritious, Belle Mare Plage, Le Tressouek on Ile aux Cerfs Island and Itata in Inata.
Babysitting facilities are available at an extra cost (approximately EURO 10 per hour).
Complimentary wireless at the Bar area only. If guests prefer there is internet cable connection available in the rooms at an extra charge, except for in the suites where this is also complimentary.
There is a business centre with 4 computers with internet connection for complimentary use.
Transfers from the airport are 1 hour by road or if guests prefer to take a helicopter it is 10 minutes to the landing at nearby Belle Mare hotel and then a short drive to The Residence Hotel. Rates on request.
A number of excursions can be arranged for guests wishing to visit parts of the Island.
